Cellular Solutions achieves Cyber Essentials certification

Posted on 13th January 2020 at 12:06

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the UK Government’s highly coveted Cyber Essentials certification.

The Cyber Essentials scheme was developed based on guidance from the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance (CESG), the information security arm of GCHQ.

Achieving Cyber Essentials certification demonstrates a company’s commitment to cybersecurity and reassures its customers that it has measures in place to guard against cyber attacks.

Mike Bowers, managing director at Cellular Solutions, said: “As a provider of telecommunications services and business software, our customers rely on us for much of their operational infrastructure and support. They therefore need a partner who they can rely on and which takes cybersecurity seriously, in order to ensure continuity of service and support, and which has data protection measures firmly in place.

“We have always made cybersecurity a key priority, so we’re delighted to have achieved Cyber Essentials accreditation.

“In addition, as we support businesses with a range of solutions – such as cloud software, finance systems and CRM systems – which are designed to help them keep their data protected, it’s important that we lead the way on cybersecurity.

“Cybercrime can have a major impact on businesses. Operational disruption, loss of sensitive information, data theft and breaches of GDPR regulations can have a devastating impact on an organisation’s reputation and finances. At Cellular Solutions, we have an in-depth understanding of cybersecurity threats and the ways in which businesses can safeguard themselves against them. We share this expertise with our customers and can provide training and support.”

The Cyber Essentials scheme covers areas such as securing internet connections, securing devices and software, controlling access to data and services, protecting systems from viruses and malware and keeping devices and software up to date.

Cyber Essentials Certification is required for companies who wish to bid for central government contracts which involve handling sensitive and personal information or the provision of certain technical products and services.
