Charity is the winner on our golf day

Posted on 15th July 2019 at 11:30

We’re delighted to announce that we helped to raised £3000 for the Changing Lives charity on our annual Golf Day!

Friends from the business community joined our staff on July 10 at Close House Golf Club for the event, which featured a Japanese theme to celebrate this year’s Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Guests took to the prestigious Lee Westwood Colt Course to play in a European Tour Pro-Am format – and helped us raise money for Changing Lives, which provides specialist support for thousands of vulnerable people and their families across the UK.

Mike Bowers, Managing Director of Cellular Solutions, said: “We’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who played at our Golf Day and helped us to raise money for Changing Lives, a charity which plays such an important role in helping to support vulnerable people in the community. Their work makes a big difference – and it’s important that they are supported by the business community through fundraising events such as this.

“I’m delighted that so many golfers from across the North East and beyond took on the challenges of the magnificent Colt Course and supported the event.

“I’d also like to thank Graham Wylie and the Close House team for helping to make the day really special for all of our guests and staff.”

Changing Lives helps more than 17,000 people change their lives for the better each year. It has around 100 projects in England staffed by 500 dedicated staff, supporting people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, addictions, long-term unemployment and more.

Look out for more pictures of the event in August’s edition of Northern Insight magazine.
