Cellular Solutions joined Durham CCC star and England’s Twenty20 World Cup winning captain Paul Collingwood at Loch Lomond Golf Club recently, to support the cricketer’s 2017 Testimonial Year.

A team from Cellular Solutions were among 25 golfers who took to the fairways at the world renowned golf club, at an event which raised money for The Graham Wylie Foundation and The Professional Cricketers Association Benevolent Fund.

After 21 years of cricket for County Durham and England, Paul Collingwood is celebrating his testimonial year throughout 2017. Collingwood made 68 Test appearances for England, including winning three Ashes series. His 197 one-day appearances are an English record and he won 35 Twenty20 caps.

He captained both white-ball teams, and is the only captain to lead England to a major global trophy, the 2010 World Twenty20.

The Graham Wylie Foundation provides grants to help groups of children and young people in challenging and vulnerable circumstances, while the Benevolent Fund is part of the Professional Cricketers’ Association’s commitment to helping former and current players and their dependants in times of hardship and upheaval, or to readjust to the world beyond the game.

Mike Bowers, managing director of Cellular Solutions, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Paul Collingwood’s testimonial year and to have helped to raise funds for two incredible charities.

“Paul has been a superb servant to both Durham CCC and England for more than 20 years, and has represented his native North East on a world stage. It was an honour to be part of the Loch Lomond event, which was not only a fantastic day of golf, but a real celebration of Paul’s career.

“As a North East-based company, we believe it’s important to recognise and support the sporting talent that the region has produced, and Paul is one of the best examples of this.”
