Sage 200cloud Spring 2019 Update

Posted on 16th May 2019 at 09:47

Gary Butler, software specialist at Cellular Solutions, takes a tour around the new Sage 200cloud update…

The Sage 200cloud Spring 2019 release is upon us, and along with the usual bug fixes, some really smart and user friendly new features have been introduced – a number of which are long standing, high wish list items!

So what’s new?

Export and update nominal accounts, customers, suppliers and stock items

The ability to import and update accounts was a long standard item on the wish list. This was something possible in Sage 50 and repeatedly requested for in Sage 200cloud. There is a new button on each area to Export the records, which saves the file in the correct importable format in CSV. You can amend the details to be updated and when you import, you now have an option to update the records.

Power BI

If you have a Power BI Pro licence, you can connect Power BI to Sage 200cloud to analyse your company data.

Power BI consists of:

Control access to supplier bank details

You can now restrict access to the Bank tab in Supplier records by the role the users are in.  This means that users will be unable to view or amend the details.  This is another feature that was high on the wish list.

Open or close all modules in an accounting period

It can take a while to close each module at month end, or open the future periods.  There is now an option to Open/Close all on Accounting Periods.

Save remittances to cloud document storage

A new feature in earlier Sage 200cloud releases was an option to store printed/emailed documents in Dropbox or OneDrive.  A new feature is on printing/emailing remittances, saving them to Document Storage, which means being able to access previously printed remittances when necessary.

All in all, there is an impressive list of improvements on this release – and real crowd pleasers!
