Posted on 14th March 2019 at 09:47

In this Ask The Expert guide, our software specialist, Gary Butler, reviews the latest features, updates and bug fixes for Sage 200cloud which were added as part of its Winter 2018 update.

Sage introduced a number of features, which will enhance the experience users have with Sage 200cloud, including the following functionalities:

GoCardless – Full Launch

Sage has partnered with leading digital direct debit provider, GoCardless, which means that users can easily schedule and collect payments by Direct Debit within Sage 200cloud.

Making Tax Digital

This release is fully compatible with Making Tax Digital – Spring and Summer 18 are compatible with a tweak on the advent of your first VAT return for MTD.  However, with the Winter 2018 update you get a tick box to enable.

Sage 200 Audit Log

Sage 200 Audit Log helps users to track changes in important areas of the program, featuring a highly requested wish list item:
Ability to view key audit activities in the following product areas:
• Changes to Supplier Bank Details.
• Changes to purchase requisitions.

Purchase Requisition Enhancements

As part of the update, Sage has increased the functionality for requisitions to include:
• Mandatory Nominal Code/Supplier Account.
• Combined Budget Selection.
• Order of Budget in Combined Budget Lookup in alphabetical order.
• Search for a combined budget.
• Restrict access to Authorise/Authorise & Generate Orders Options.
• Cancel Purchase Request when cancelling/removing Purchase Order.
• Amend a rejected Purchase Request.
• Authoriser to amend Purchase Request.
• Workspace improvements.

Set delivery locations for free text items in purchase orders

When you enter a purchase order or return, you can select a warehouse when you add a free text item.

The warehouse address will be included on printed orders and returns. This means that your items are delivered to (or collected from) the right location.

Scan and attach documents to nominal journals and VAT returns

This functionality has also been increased. As a result, users can attach files and scanned documents when they enter nominal journals and VAT returns. You can scan images directly, using a scanner connected to your PC or network.
